Using AI Assistants to Power Productivity Workshop

Course Info

In many workplaces, the conversation has moved from “How do I use AI?” to “How can I create an AI agent?” If you’re intrigued by the possibilities but new to AI, short on time, or simply feeling overwhelmed, this workshop offers an approachable way to begin.

This hands-on AI assistant course will help you transform your professional workflow by using AI as a powerful digital assistant for productivity—not simply an advanced search tool. You’ll learn how simple, custom AI assistants, such as Gems and GPTs, can streamline routine tasks, increase efficiency, and create more time for high-impact talent development work.

How AI Assistants Can Support Talent Development Workflows

During the workshop, you’ll evaluate different AI tools for work productivity and identify practical ways to use them in your role. You’ll also explore how AI assistants can support specific talent development tasks, such as drafting learning objectives, organizing content from subject matter experts, or checking materials for accessibility.

Build and Refine a Custom AI Assistant

You’ll then create an AI assistant using a step-by-step process and train it to complete tasks for you. Throughout the course, you’ll complete hands-on practice scenarios to build your skills in advanced prompting, assistant-workflow design, AI-agent blueprint development, knowledge-base setup, and output testing. You’ll leave the workshop equipped with your own functional AI assistant, designed to streamline your work.

Access to an artificial intelligence large language model (LLM) on your computer is required for this course. Access must include the platform’s custom agent creation features, such as GPTs in ChatGPT, Gems in Gemini, or Agents in Microsoft Copilot. Acceptable tools include ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude, or Perplexity. A personal account or trial version of any tool is acceptable. If you’ll be using an employer-provided laptop, please ensure you can access both the tool and the custom agent features
